This public college of Applied Arts and Technology was established in 1967 as the Ontario Vocational Centre in the city of London, Southwestern Ontario. Three years later it became Fanshawe College and then opened other campuses in Simcoe, St. Thomas and Woodstock. Today more than forty three thousand students obtain post-secondary education on more than two hundred education programs in Fanshawe College. With its motto being «Unlocking potential», Fanshawe College students don’t only excel in their academic studies, but also in athletics, participating in baseball, softball and badminton competitions. Programs

Fanshawe College offers various programs in the following areas: Arts and Culture, Agriculture and Animal, Education, Community and Social Services, Engineering and Technology, Energy, Environmental and Natural Resources, Justice and Security and others. But to start the main program international students need to meet specific language requirements of Fanshawe College. If your English level happens to be below 6.5 IELTS band score or you don’t have any certificate supporting your English level, then you can take the English for Academic Purposes program first. During the program, international students learn Philosophy and History of Early Childhood Development,  Leadership in Learning Organizations and in a Tech World, Observing, Recording and Assessing and other disciplines. This Fanshawe College program of Early Childhood Leadership doesn’t only include researching case studies and applied learning, but also an internship which will last for fourteen weeks. Accommodation

International students who wish to study in Fanshawe College have to start searching for the available accommodation options several months before arriving in Canada. Fanshawe College offers their own residence for international students. It offers 1200 rooms made in the apartment-style and around four hundred townhouse-style rooms. For instance, a townhouse residence of Fanshawe College comprises an overall of sixty six units, with six students living in one unit. Each of the six students of Fanshawe College has their own private bedroom with a bed, a desk and a drawer. There is a living room and a full-size kitchen with an oven and a dishwasher in each unit. Two bathrooms and one two-piece are also shared by the residents of one unit. Each resident of an apartment-style room has their own bedroom with a queen-size bed and shares a kitchenette, a living room and a three-piece bathroom with other residents of a suite. Living in this type of a residence, students are required to buy a meal plan so that they can have a meal at one of the college outlets. The annual cost of the meal plan is $1200 CAD. For the residence itself, students are to pay around $9500 CAD for an academic year.

International students of Fanshawe College can also live off-campus, renting a flat or a room outside of campus. For instance, the average rent price for a one-bedroom apartment in London is around $1400 CAD per month. While all the utility bills and WiFi fees are included in the cost of a residence, renting an apartment presupposes paying the bills aside from the rent.
