Study Manitoba School Divisions consist of 37 schools with the total number of students exceeding 7,500. 18 high schools of the Divisions accept international students, who are integrated into classes with Canadian students. This approach offers the best opportunity to improve English fast and learn more about the Canadian lifestyle. The language of study is English. All schools of the SMSD provide students with effective English language learning resources.

Study Manitoba School Divisions offer a wide range of programs for international students. This includes a three-month educational stay, a semester-long program, or an entire academic year as an option.

All schools of the Divisions use the famous Manitoba Curriculum in their work and offer a perfectly-designed orientation program for newcomers. Also, there is a special International Student Orientation Handbook developed in Manitoba with open online access to it. Small class sizes guarantee attention and an individualized approach to everyone. Teachers encourage students to think critically, debate, and develop their soft skills effectively. Individual and group projects together with independent learning methods enhance students` academic journey at the Study Manitoba School Divisions.

Schools combine compulsory and elective courses to help students balance their individual learning programs. Extracurricular activities offered at the SMSD include Music, Art, Drama, Student Government, and Sports such as Gymnastics, Figure Skating, Karate, Yoga, Swimming, Hockey, or Fitness. Leadership and volunteer groups are also very active in the SMSD community.

Field trips, as a part of the extracurricular program, contribute a lot to the adaptation of international students and their understanding of Canada and its people. The province of Manitoba offers a lot of interesting places to visit and schools of SMSD guarantee students this opportunity.

According to the standards of the Manitoba Department of Education, SMSD students are required to earn at least 28 credits to graduate from high school. English Language, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Physical Education are compulsory academic subjects. Optional courses can be chosen by students and are based on their interests, abilities, and future career goals. These can include the courses in The Arts, Technical and Vocational Education, and other foreign languages. Many high schools of the Study Manitoba School Divisions offer specialized career programs for students who are interested in training in a specific professional field.
