The University of British Columbia is a public university in the British Columbia province of Canada. Admission requirements in University of British Columbia

Admissions requirements vary based on where you went to high school, which University of British Columbia campus you want to attend, and which degree you want to study. Admission requirements can be divided in three:

  1. English language competency
  2. General admission requirements
  3. Program-specific requirements.

 

At University of British Columbia, the teaching language is English, that is why all future students must demonstrate English language proficiency. The English Language Admission Standard can be met in distinct ways according to the University’s rules. For instance, you can demonstrate your IELTS results with minimum scores 6.5, with no part less than 6.0. The deadline for submitting documents demonstrating compliance with English language competency requirement is February 15. General admission requirement means the necessity to demonstrate that you have completed a university-preparatory program and an average score which depends on your country’s system of assessment. There are also program-specific requirements. For some, such as Arts Program, there are no special requirements, while for others, such as Music Program you should provide portfolio, audition and letters of reference. The deadline for applications for  the Winter Session (September 2022 to April 2023) is 15th of January, 2022 (11:59 p.m. PST) and for  Summer Session (May to August 2022). 30th of May, 2022 is the deadline for submitting all supportive documents for international students.
