Mohawk College of Applied Arts and Technology was founded in 1966 in the city of Hamilton, in the province of Ontario. Programs

There are more than 130 full-time programs offered at Mohawk College, but first and foremost international students need to have high competency in the English language to study them. Accommodation 

There are several options of housing for international students: homestay, residence and off-campus living. As for the Mohawk College residence, this option is available only to the students, who study on the Fennel campus as the number of vacant spots is limited. The Residence of Fennel Campus is comprised of 170 suites, each with two private bedrooms, equipped with TVs and Wi-Fi. Moreover, living on campus provides first-year students with an unforgettable experience and full integration into students’ life, as a team of enthusiastic students and volunteers organized weekly events for bonding students and enriching their lives with a new experience. Mohawk College Residence is video monitored 24 hours and the residence staff is always available to reach out to, so it’s, above everything else, a safe place for students living. It’s mandatory to buy a meal plan for the students who plan to live in a Mohawk College Residence which cost varies from $2500 to $3400. The cost of the residence itself is around $8500 for an academic year, which can be split into two separate payments. 

Another option of homestay is also a very beneficial experience for first-year international students, as they will be provided with support by a host family, instantly make good friends with the family members, have an access to the laundry, kitchen and other house facilities and also spend their leisure time with them, thus never left on their own in solitude and slip into depression. 

And finally, as for living in a rented apartment, while studying at Mohawk College, this option will be perfect for the ones, who enjoy autonomy and who are not afraid of managing utility bills, the demands of a landlord and paying rent on their own. Future prospects 

International students who study at Mohawk College are allowed to gain some work experience simultaneously with their studies. For example, with a study permit and social insurance number full-time students of Mohawk College can work up to twenty hours a week on campus and gain valuable work experience, which then will be of great help, while looking for employment. Another option is to go for one of the co-op programs - this is the best opportunity for international students to work on a paid job and study, thus paying for their own expenses.
