The Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) is one of the geographically largest school districts in Canada. Its area occupies 12,000 square kilometers and includes the counties of Lanark, Leeds, Grenville, Stormont, Dundas, Glengarry, Prescott, and Russel. The main office is located in Brockville and in total the Board manages 81 elementary and secondary schools, including T.R. Leger School. Eastern Ontario is known for its diverse background of cultures and friendly citizens. International students enjoy the security and beauty of living in small-town settings. But the region is well served by international airports in Ottawa and Montreal and is connected to the main railway line to Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto and beyond.

The Upper Canada District School Board has a three-year Strategic Plan known as CREW. It describes the mission of the district - to prepare students for success in their lives, and sets four general aspects of specific attention: Collaboration, Resources, Educational Programs, and Wellness. This approach helps UCDSB  to track the progress and monitor students` needs. A well-rounded education is seen as the priority, so students are offered a wide range of academic, athletic, artistic and extracurricular activities.

International students, who choose the Upper Canada District Schools are surrounded by care and attention. All of them get a short orientation program at the beginning of their studies. It provides useful information about the upcoming school program and the Canadian lifestyle. The support continues after the students start school. Experienced coordinators are assigned to each person to assist and help in various situations. The homestay experience is also carefully monitored by the program coordinators to guarantee the best living environment for each newcomer. A range of optional assistance services can be provided at extra cost.

Ten UCDSB secondary schools can offer the additional English Language Support Program for those students, who need more language practice or skills. The student will be assigned an ESL instructor, available during the school day. The instructor will help the student and monitor his or her progress in all the classes. Teachers can also accommodate the students` curriculum based on their ESL credit results.

Secondary school programs at the UCSB are unique and well-designed to match the needs of students and prepare them for the future in the challenging globalized world. Grade 11 or 12 students can earn school credits through an unpaid work placement. The Cooperative Education Program gives them an opportunity to feel what real working experience is like. The Dual Credit Program offers students to take a college or apprenticeship course that counts towards both their Ontario Secondary School Diploma.

Joining the eLearning Program students can enroll in online classes not offered at their school. This option gives them an opportunity to customize their educational experience and add some subjects that they like or want to improve. The Upper Canada School Board students, who join the Ontario Youth Appreciation Program can also work on an apprenticeship in a skilled trade. The Specialist High Skills Majors Program helps students to match their interests and skills to the proper career pathway.

The Upper Canada School Board is a partner of the most experienced homestay company in Canada - Canada Homestay International. An interesting fact - many homestay families in the district are actually the families of the UCDSB teachers. The program coordinators systematically monitor the comfort and quality of living that students get in their host families.

The Full-year Tuition Fee is 13,000 CAD, The Annual Health Insurance is 800 CAD but it can be included with the registration in the Homestay Program.
