Western University is a public university in London, Ontario. Western University welcomed its first group of students in 1881. Since 1878, the university has been an innovator in medical research. Nowadays, Western University is among the top 1% of post-secondary institutions in the world. The university is also a  key member of the U15, a group of Canada's top academic institutions. In the QS Global World Rankings 2022, it is rated #170. London is the region's financial, social, and cultural centre, situated in the centre of Southwestern Ontario. London, Canada's 11th biggest city, has a population of over 383,000 people and is an outstanding place to work, play, and live. London is large enough to provide a 'big city' feeling while remaining affordable in compared to many other Canadian cities. It has a large educational and health-care community while maintaining the safe and clean environment of a small town.

 

More than 6,000 foreign students from 128 states are among 40,000 students that study in the university. 94 percent retention rate from first to second year—one of the highest in Canada.3M National Teaching Fellowships were awarded to 26 faculty members, which is the second highest number in Canada. Western University offers its students more than 390 specialities, majors, and minors, along with advanced modular degree system that allow students to combine multiple disciplines, through 11 faculties, a school of graduate and postdoctoral studies, and 3 affiliated university colleges. These faculties include Arts and Humanities, Music, Education, Engineering, Health Sciences, Information and Media Studies, Law, Business, Medicine and Dentistry, Science and Social Science. The faculties provide a range of undergraduate and graduate degree programs that help 30,000 students, including more than 6,000 foreign students from 128 countries. At the undergraduate level, Western University provides over 400 various specialities, majors, and minors. You can choose from almost 20 distinct undergraduate degrees, various degree kinds, and Honors Specializations, Specializations, Majors, and Minor modules.   At the Master's and Phd levels, Western University offers 160 distinct graduate degree programs.

All of Western University's programs are distinctive, and students have the opportunity to study under skilled and experienced academic staff. Tuition fees for international students in Western University

The expenditures of completing your degree are covered by your tuition. Tuition varies by program, and you will be billed for graduate students - 3 times in an academic year at the start of each semester (January, May, and September), for full-time undergraduate students enrolled in the Fall/Winter academic year students – 2 times in an academic year in August and December. Tuition and fees are due within 5 working days of the start of each semester. Graduate students can pay half of their tuition and fees within five business days of the start of each term, and the remaining amount five weeks afterwards. Tuition and fees for students help to cover the costs of direct and indirect services, resources, and assistance that help you complete your graduate degree, in addition to the general costs related with the formal requirements of your degree program, such as courses, milestones, and workshops. Tuition and supplementary fees will be collected on a per-course basis for full-time students attending 3.5 or 3.75 courses from September to April. International students will be charged $756.00 for the international health plan (UHIP). The Western One Card costs $32.00 to students who are attending Western University for the first time. Tuition for Ats, Social Science, Bio/Medicine, Health Science, Kinesiology, Music ranges from $34,678 to $38,741 depending on the year of study and the faculty.

Supplementary fees include but are not limited to:

  • Transit pass (12-month unlimited Transit Bus Pass during all operating hours 7 days a week),
  • Safe transit program (on weekends and during examinations, you can ride the late-night university shuttle after Transit Bus services have ended to go home securely),
  • Health and wellness (support on issues such as mental health, social health, drug abuse, campus safety, and sexual assault preventative measures),
  • Health plan (health care needs of students, so you can concentrate on being a student while the university handles the stress of healthcare insurance. The plan covers a wide range of health-care needs, including doctors and prescription medicines),
  • Dental plan (dental coverage),
  • Academic assistance (you can get academic help in a safe and confidential setting, and you can talk to the Ombudsperson about any University-related worries. Academic support is also provided by the University by promoting goals at the University, operating the Student Appeals Centre, and promoting career development activities such as job fairs),
  • Legal aid (free legal assistance to Western students).
  • Student life (over 4,000 activities that take place each year, such as concerts, conferences etc)
  • First orientation week ( you can participate in a variety of fun and engaging programs that welcome you to Western, help you meet other first-year students, and ease your transition to campus life).

Student organisation fees amount to 395,08. Ancillary Fees are $513.02. Transit Pass costs $273.50, while health plan – $183.44, and dental plan – $177.01. Orientation week fee amounts to $135.6. Faculty donation fee depends on the Faculty and ranges from $50 to $100.
