As the school division is Catholic, it means that one of its main aims is to bring up faithful citizens who have high academic achievements and have the advanced skills and knowledge important for twenty-first century citizens. Regina Catholic School welcomes international students to attend the same academic program as domestic students. There is a special band program for the students' music bands from all the Regina Schools. Students can join a band or create their own beginning in grade six and participate in it until the very last day of school. Students in grades six through eight who want to join a music band should attend a small, thirty-minute class that is pulled from their regular classes. In high school, attending a band class will award students with additional credits towards graduation. High school students participate in a number of concerts and festivals; learn about different styles of music and music theory; and hone their skills on a musical instrument of their choice. The extension of a band program is an instrumental jazz program, in which participants also rehearse once a week. Students study jazz pedagogy and improvisation during these classes. Many students become so inspired by the band and jazz courses offered by the Regina Catholic Schools that they continue their education in music at the post-secondary level.
