Accommodation

There are three main university residences offered for students to live in. For example, one of the buildings comprises nineteen floors and more than three hundred rooms available to the first-year students as well. There Toronto Metropolitan University students may choose whether to live in two-bedroom or four-bedroom suites, resembling apartments. Each apartment is comprised of a kitchen, a washing room and a living room, where neighbours can study or hang out together, enjoying leisure activities when they have free time. Another residential building is quite older than the previous one, it was opened in 1987 and has eleven floors. The peculiar feature of this building is that Toronto Metropolitan University students live in extra-large rooms: double or single. There is a shared kitchen and a study or lounge room on each floor, where students can cook their food and spend time studying. In addition to these types of rooms, there are also apartment-style ones with four or five students living in one suite, sharing a kitchen and a bathroom. And a so-called paired style room, where two students live in their own private bedroom and share one washing room and a small living room, with their kitchen being on the floor. Students who wish to reside in one of the buildings during their studies at Toronto Metropolitan University are obliged to buy meal plans which can be of different varieties from cheaper to more expensive ones. As for the fees, living in a double room will cost an international student around $2000 for three months, which is sixty hundred less than residence in a paired style room.
