Fraser International College is a private educational institution in Canada that is managed by Simon Fraser University. The main aim of the college is to prepare students for university studies. Hence, international students choose this school as a head start for further studies. Fraser College is located in the Barnaby Campus of Simon Fraser University. The campus has six cafeterias and a well-known Starbucks. Students at Fraser International College can also enjoy good food over English Bay or walk in Stanley Park. Additionally, international students can buy everything they need, including books and apparel, through the university’s bookstore.

Fraser International College has a large library where international students can find various research journals and educational books. Moreover, the library offers academic writing, learning and study strategies for all international students. The Barnaby Campus also has a counselling and health centre that offers several services to international students, such as guided meditation, mental health support, and yoga classes. Extracurricular activities at Fraser International College include participation in different organizations such as the photography team, IT squad, orientation leaders, peer education, guidance advisors, and many others. International students also have a chance to take part in more than 40 educational, leadership, sports, and outdoor programs in Vancouver hosted by Simon Fraser University.

Fraser International College offers several foundations and undergraduate pathway programs that prepare international students to study at Simon Fraser University. The school has two University Transfer Programs (UTP): UTP Stage I and UTP Stage II.

UTP Stage I at Fraser International College prepares international students for entry to university-level programs. Study programs at this level include Arts and Social Sciences, Business Administration, Computing Science Engineering, Communications, Art and Technology. International students have to complete eight classes in this stage and get a 2.5 CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average). After completing this program, students are transferred to UTP Stage II.

International students can also apply directly to UTP Stage II if they have relevant secondary school qualifications and grades. Thus, they can complete their first year at Fraser International College that is equivalent to a first-year university program and apply directly to the second year of a degree at Simon Fraser University. To do this, international students need to complete ten academic courses and get the minimum CGPA specified for their study program at Simon Fraser University. International students can complete this stage in one year (three terms).

Fraser International College offers 12 study programs at UTP Stage II: bachelors in Business Administration, Arts and Social Sciences, Communication and Business, Computing Science, Communication, Art and Technology, Engineering Science, Environment, Environment (Science), Environment (Environment), Health Science, Health Science (Science), Sciences.

Fraser International College also offers an associate degree in Arts. It is a two-year program that allows international students to transfer to the relevant third-degree study program at Simon Fraser University or any other university.

The cornerstone program aims to give international students the extra opportunity to develop their skills and integrate into the new study environment. Admission Requirements

Fraser International College has three intakes in September, May, and January. To apply to the school, you have to use the online application portal and pay a processing fee of 250 CAD. When you receive the letter of acceptance, you need to pay a tuition fee for the chosen program.

To be admitted to Fraser International College, international students ought to meet specific requirements. If you wish to apply to the UTP Stage II program (Computing Science), you should have no individual subject score below 50%, a minimum of 65% in Math, and an overall average of at least 65% in four academic subjects.

If you want to apply to the UTP Stage II program (Arts and Social Sciences, Business Administration), you need to have no individual subject score below 50%, a minimum of 50% in Math, and 65% or more in four academic senior level subjects.

If you plan to apply to the UTP Stage II (Engineering Science, Environment, Health), you should have at least 70% in Math and a minimum of 65% in four academic subjects.

International students also have to provide supporting documents: high school official transcripts, copy of passport, personal essay, letter of recommendation, English Language Test score, and proof of financial support. All the required documents international applicants should submit through email at admissions@fraseric.ca.

Like all Canadian schools, Fraser International College requires international students to pass the English Language Test. You can pass TOEFL, IELTS (Academic), IELTS Indicator, Pearson Versant English Test (PVT), Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL), Pearson Test of English (PTE), GCSE/O Level English Language, HKDSE, or IB English.

You can also prove the English Language Qualification through completion of the last three years of full-time secondary education in English in Canada or in a country in which the medium of instruction is English. You can also demonstrate your English Language Qualification if you complete the last four years of full-time secondary education in English at a recognized international school in a country where English is not the medium of instruction.

You should also meet one of the three English language requirements at Fraser International College: direct entry, integrated entry, or cornerstone entry. If you meet the direct entry requirements, you can be admitted to the UTP Stage I or UTP Stage II study program that can be completed in three terms. The direct entry includes a non-credit academic literacy course. If you meet the integrated entry requirements, you can apply to the UTP Stage I or UTP Stage II program that can be completed in three terms. You will have to attend INTG100 and two academic courses in your first term of study. If you meet the cornerstone entry requirements, you can be admitted to the UTP Stage I or UTP Stage II program that can be completed in four terms. You will need to take cornerstone courses in your first term of study.

Fees for International Students

The tuition fee at Fraser International College goes from 6,330 CAD to 31,579 CAD for the total program. To be more specific, the Integrated Program costs 6,330 CAD. The ELC (English Language Course) Pre-Sessional English Program costs 7,150 CAD. The Cornerstone Program costs 8,982 CAD. The UTP Stage I costs 23,175 CAD. The Associate of Arts degree and UTP Stage II cost 31,579 CAD.

It is obvious that international students worry about the expected and unexpected expenditures during their study at Fraser International College. Basically, international students need to have 10,000 CAD for their expenses. The in-house accommodation can cost you around 3,000 CAD per term. The meal plan on the campus costs around 2,300 CAD per term. Student Services and Recreation costs 245 CAD per term, and the Student Society Fee is 129 CAD per term. If you want to attend the Academic Literacy Course, you need to pay 3,127 CAD per term.

Fraser International College allows international students to work on campus and off-campus if it is listed in their study permit conditions. Students who are enrolled in full-time vocational, professional training or post-secondary programs are eligible to work during their studies. Fraser International College also aims to help international students to find a job after graduation.
