Alexander Academy is an independent and private school established in 2013 under the British Columbia Ministry of Education. Day school for students Grade 8-12 is located in downtown Vancouver, Canada. The campus is steps away from the major tourist attractions of the city. 

Alexander Academy was authorized as IB World School in 2018. Now the School offers the Diploma Programme and the BC Dogwood Diploma. The curriculum of the Alexander Academy is effective and balanced, firstly because it is fully endorsed by the Ministry of Education. The emphasis is made on the preparation of students for their future studies in the best world universities. 

Teaching combines traditional and non-traditional educational approaches. Relevant out-of-class experiences and personalized learning provide students with a better opportunity to discover their unique talents and abilities. Small class sizes help teachers to monitor the progress of students and correct possible difficulties. A friendly atmosphere and attention to everyone in the group aid smooth integration of newcomers to Canada. 

International education is seen as one of the priorities at the Alexander Academy. English Language Development Program helps international students to improve their knowledge of English. Supplementary language courses prepare them for the standard academic English program, required in most of the Canadian universities. Additional support is provided within the regular classroom environment. 

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program is available for the students of Alexander Academy. The program focuses on the development of the intellectual and social abilities of the students, together with their emotional and physical well-being. The curriculum is made up of six subject groups and the core subjects. 

Six major areas of study are Studies in Language and Literature: Language and Literature HL; Language Acquisition: French Ab Initio, Individuals and Societies: History HL; Sciences: Chemistry SL; Mathematics: Mathematics SL; The Arts: Visual Arts SL. The core subjects include Theory of Knowledge; Creativity, Action Service and The Extended Essay. IB graduates enjoy a competitive edge in admission to any college or university in the world. Successful graduates can also receive advanced university placement and credits.

Alexander Academy cooperates effectively with Alexander College. The result of this cooperation is visible in a well-tailored preparation program for the university and college entrance. Graduates of the Academy continue their studies in various Canadian and world universities. 

The School`s equipment corresponds to high international standards. Every classroom has the appropriate technologies and multimedia available. Research laboratories and self-training classes are open for students. 

Students of Alexander Academy wear its uniform. Clubs and activities available for the students include Theatre, Digital Media Arts, Cross Fit and many others.

Alexander Academy does not arrange individual homestays. This is the choice that must be made by students and their families. Families and custodians must ensure that host families meet the International Student Homestay Guidelines, prepared by the British Columbia Ministry of Education.

Tuition Fees for the BC Dogwood Graduation Program and the IB Diploma Programme is 22,800 CAD per year. A non-refundable Application Fee is 200 CAD.
