Bishop Strachan School (BSS), founded in 1867, is an Anglican day and boarding school for girls in Toronto, Ontario. The school was named after the first Anglican bishop of Toronto John Strachan. The main building of the campus, located in the Foresthill neighborhood of Toronto, was designed by Henry Sproatt. The goal of the school is to educate girls as leaders. Bishop Strachan School is a private privileged girls only school in Toronto, close to the another high ranking boys only school: Upper Canada College. Bishop school delivers Secondary education to local and international students with modern approach and high quality teachers, professors and staff. Most graduates from Strachan school get acceptance in High Ranking Universities worldwide. School has most required for quality and convenient education facilities and opportunities for successful graduation.
Bishop Strachan School works with students starting from Kindergarten and to Grade 12. The number of students is close to a thousand, many of them come from different countries of the world. The Boarding Program is open for girls in Grade 8 - Grade 12. The school is proud that 100 percent of its graduates are offered a placement at top-tier universities and colleges around the world. Music and theatre, and musical theatre, dance, painting, drawing, sculpture, and learning to play an instrument are just a few out of many opportunities available for the students.
Bishop Strachan School also offers a unique Co-operative Education Program. This optional course allows Grade 11 and 12 students to gain real-world experience in a particular field of interest. In-class learning is combined with experiential learning at a non-profit or business placements. Twice a week for three hours students network with employers, gain valuable work experience, analyze their abilities, and earn academic credits.
BSS Boarding Program provides students with extensive academic and social support under the attentive supervision of staff members. A wide range of fun and useful activities bring girls together as a community and celebrate cultures from around the world. Boarding students are offered extensive athletic facilities. Food Services team works closely with staff and students to provide healthy meals that meet personal dietary needs or restrictions.
Tuition Fees
The Full-year Tuition Fee for Day students is 33,830 CAD and for International Boarding students is 64,090 CAD. Future students and their parents should be ready to pay around $70,000 CAD per year (including application fees $8,000 CAD). These fees are included boarding fees, tuition fees, meal plan and activities. Schools also has scholarship and special payment plan for some, not ordinary, and unique cases. Currently, school has 900 students including 80 boarding international students. Bishop school tries to bring diversity to their school and invite students from all over the world. Students can find friends and study different cultures in this school, which broaden their horizons and way of global thinking. The School prepare and teach their student not only traditional subjects, however also Arts, Design and Technology, same as preparation for study in University and life in international world arena.
Bishop also provides amazing and decent summer camps programs to current and future students in order to familiarize new coming students to Canada and also promote their own school and life in Canada. Participants of summer program may use all the school facilities, communicate with current students in School, make friends from different countries and improve their English language skills. Be aware, that future minor students in Canada must have custodian in Canada and always can rely on our company for study permit and visa, admission to most schools in Canada and also Custodian in any province.
