Cape Breton University provides you with the first two years of excellent instruction on the engineering subjects such as electrical, chemical, civil, environmental etc. While the final years are taught in Dalhousie University, which is also located in Nova Scotia.

Graduate Programs 

On the graduate level you can obtain a Master's degree in Business Administration with the focus on community development. The program lasts two years, during which a student studies how to help the community to enhance its economical facilities and business to reach its maximum of effectiveness. With its focus on community development, this Master’s program at Cape Breton University shows its concern for the economical development of the country, by preparing specialists in this sphere.

You may choose to achieve a Post-Baccalaureate diploma specializing in the management of health care. During the program you learn how to operate health care facilities, insert innovations and streamline some of the internal processes such as statistics, accounting and others. After graduation you can become a consultant in the field of healthcare and work in the human resource department of the establishments connected to healthcare. During the studies you will have an opportunity to have an internship, lasting up to twelve weeks to apply the knowledge gained in the real work environment. To be admitted to the program a Canadian citizen needs to have a Bachelor’s diploma, the same as an international student needs to already have a Bachelor’s degree, obtained in one of the accredited universities and, among other, meet the English Language requirements. The score in the IELTS should not be below the point of six, or if an international student completed the high school in Canada, they are considered exempt from the process of confirming their English level. 

After obtaining a certain amount work experience, foreigners may apply for express entry, which is designed to stimulate and increase the flow of highly-qualified specialists to Nova Scotia. 

There is also an Atlantic Immigration program for which foreign students who have graduated from the Canadian education establishments can apply, if they wish to live and work in Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia or the other two Atlantic provinces.

Accommodation 

Living in Cape Breton means living on an island in the Atlantic Ocean, but with all the advancement and facilities of a big city. You can always go out to eat in cafes and restaurants 

either with local or exotic food. 

Cape Breton University offers its students to live on campus in the dormitory, where you can meet students from different countries and provinces, building long lasting connections and increasing your network all around the world. Cape Breton University has three dormitories.

First one is the Cabot Residence where students live in a kind of flat with four bedrooms and two shared washing rooms, a living room and a kitchen. It allows students to feel the real atmosphere of student hood, by gathering on evenings, making parties or cooking dinners all together. 

Another dormitory is called Alumni Hall where students live in five or two bedroom flats with shared living rooms and facilities for doing laundry, located on each floor. 

Harris Hall is the third dormitory of Cape Breton University, where you may live in a single room, which means you won’t have to live with a neighbor. In the dormitory there are special cooking facilities, where you can make food yourself or, if you’re not in the mood for cooking, you’re free to visit a dining room where they serve delicious food, where students with diverse eating preferences find something for themselves. 

As for the cost, living in a double room would be around $2300, the flat-style rooms will be more expensive and costs $3300 and the most expensive type of residence is a private room with the price of approximately $3800. 

Living in one of the dormitories of Cape Breton University, you’re to buy a meal plan, which means you will be able to have dinner, lunch or breakfast in the dining room. It’s compulsory for everyone who lives in the so-called dormitory style residence and costs $2700. For the students who opted for a flat-style residence, the meal plan costs $400.

Tuition fees 

If you choose to obtain a Bachelor's of Arts degree, the cost for the citizens of Nova Scotia is around $8300, while the tuition fee for international students is $18515. Post-Baccalaureate diploma in Business Management would cost approximately $27500 for international students and ten thousands less for the Canadian residents. 

The Master’s program in Education and Creativity costs around $2200 for a six credit course and approximately $1100 for a three credit course.
