College Laurentien
The number of students is limited, a maximum of 350 are enrolled to the Laurentien College each year. This is due to the College`s vision of its mission - to be a high-status personalized school and create a warm, family atmosphere for all of its students.
Laurentien College implements a well-tailored educational program that promotes the integral development of students, including various sports programs, cultural trips as well as an extended schedule of homework assistance (optional, Monday to Thursday). The College also offers its students a daily transportation service north to Mont-Tremblant and south to Boisbriand.
Laurentien College accepts students for the Grades 4, 5, and 6 and all the secondary levels. Students do not need to pass admission exams, which can be difficult and stressful for some candidates. Main attention is paid to students` talents and skills, as the main task of education at the College is to discover and nurture their individualities. Acceptance to the College requires a good academic profile and correspondent behavior.
It is worth mentioning, that each year, Laurentien College holds an Open Doors Day. It gives a perfect opportunity to visit College facilities, meet the team of educators and get to know more about the unique educational concept of the Laurentien College team.
The College sees parents as important partners in the learning process. Their committee encourages parental involvement at all levels. This approach enriches educational life and develops the feeling of belonging both at the level of children and parents.
The Code of Conduct is an essential component of the Laurentian College educational approach. Respect for individual and collective rights is central to the work of the institution. Students develop a sense of responsibility and establish harmonious relationships within the school. The study process gradually develops the students` autonomy, focusing on their ability to decide what actions to take, how to achieve certain goals and to accept the consequences of their personal choices. Students are encouraged to participate actively in the life of the College, many of them are elected to the Students` Council.
Laurentien College offers a full 5-day residence service and also provides a day or week service for parents who must be absent from time to time. This service is offered to students from Primary 6 to Secondary 5. The residence program offers comfortable rooms with private bathrooms. The program also includes entertainment services. The residence managers work tirelessly to plan and develop a variety of activities that can develop the intellectual, creative, social, and physical skills of the residents.
The Tuition Fee is 3,719 CAD for a primary school and 4,654 CAD for a secondary school. The Admission Fee is 200 CAD, additional fees include payments for transportation, uniform, and some other aspects of the College study. The parents of the students who are not the Quebec residents are obliged to pay an additional financial contribution, as determined by the Minister of Education, Recreation and Sports. The additional financial contribution to be paid by the Parent corresponds to the reduction in the subsidy paid to the Institution for this student.
