Building upon the principles of enriching education, École La Vérendrye School continues to provide a solid academic experience throughout all grades. With a full-time kindergarten program complementing the Alberta Ministry of Education curriculum, the school acknowledges that children thrive through play-based learning. The kindergarten classroom is thoughtfully organized into learning centers, designed around various themes, projects, or learning areas, and furnished with an array of concrete materials to stimulate the children's discovery and enjoyment of learning. These centers cultivate a sense of responsibility and autonomy in the students.
Beyond the early childhood and kindergarten stages, École La Vérendrye School is dedicated to delivering an excellent education as students progress through to high school. Embracing the Alberta curriculum, the school enhances the learning experience with a grammar repository from Grades 3 to 9 and an increase in the number of Full-Time Equivalents (FTEs). Access to correspondence courses (CFED) and participation in out-of-school team sports activities (ASAA) are also available to students.
Moreover, the high school program ensures that students experience a smooth transfer between course sequences at key points in their academic journey through provincially-developed programs. This approach provides students with flexibility and allows them to transfer to different points in the curriculum based on individual circumstances. At École La Vérendrye School, education extends beyond the academic realm, promoting personal growth, cultural enrichment, and a passion for lifelong learning within a supportive and vibrant francophone community. The school's commitment to excellence is reflected in its dedication to preparing students for a successful future, both academically and personally.
