J Addison School is a private boarding high school founded in 2002 in Markham, Ontario. The school is proud to be listed among the twenty best boarding high schools in Canada. Many of its students come from different corners of the world, making the learning atmosphere friendly and diverse.

The school owns a modern 60,000 square foot building, that has everything the students need: a spacious cafeteria, a dancing studio, a large gymnasium with dressing rooms, and showers. J Addison School uses the Ontario Curriculum in its work. It is well-known that the province provides one of the best educational systems in the world. According to international independent expert assessments, the Ontario school system is recognized as the best in the English-speaking world. All students, who successfully graduate J. Addison School receive the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). To fulfill the requirements, high school students from Grades 9 to 12 must earn 30 credits which consist of 18 compulsory subjects and 12 elective subjects. Pass the standardized Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test or the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Course and complete 40 hours of community involvement activities. J. Addison is very proud of its high success rate in acceptance to post-secondary study. Many of the graduates continue their education in prestigious universities in Canada and other countries of the world.
J Addison School offers effective English as Second Language programs, that help students to discover more about the English language, improve grammar and vocabulary, expand the understanding of Canadian academic culture, gain confidence in speaking and presenting, understand course readings more deeply, communicate ideas in writing, learn new study skills, generate ideas, brainstorm, think critically, revise essays, write thesis statements and more. J. Addison School is one of the official IELTS Test Centers in Ontario.
For smooth and effective integration of students to academic life, a rich extracurricular program is offered. Students are encouraged to participate in Project X Service Opportunities, the Board Game Club, Creative Writing Magazine, Enviro-thon, Mathematics Club, Meteorology Club at Taft (MCAT), and Student Council. J Addison School offers a Boarding Program for students in Grades 7 – 12. Residence Life gives them valuable experience, helps to develop their independence, and become responsible young adults. The Full-year Tuition Fee for Day Students is 22,500 CAD and for Boarding Students is 40,800 CAD.
