Kwantlen Polytechnic University was established in 1981. The university has five campuses in the Metro Vancouver region.  In more than 140 programs, the university offers bachelor's degrees, associate degrees, diplomas, certifications. Almost 20,000 students take classes in Surrey, Richmond, Langley, Cloverdale campuses each year. Kwantlen Polytechnic University is a sole polytechnic university in Canada. There are over 140 different degree, diploma, certificate programs to choose from. Kwantlen Polytechnic University provides numerous unique programs that are not available at other post-secondary universities, such as foundation and in-school internship. The university offers such uncommon programs as fashion, technology, and product design. Moreover, the first brewing program in Canada was established in Kwantlen Polytechnic University. This program is the only program that has been acknowledged by the Master Brewers Association. The interior design program was the province's first to be accredited. Kwantlen Polytechnic University is the first public post-secondary institution to offer acupuncture as a course of study.

The university also offers tuition-free English language study and refresher courses. New minors in medicinal chemistry and Indigenous community justice have been added to the list of programs recently. You can take lessons full-time or part-time, and classes can be scheduled in the morning, afternoon, or evening. Some online courses are available for students. You can apply for a post-graduation work permit (PGWP) in Canada within 180 days after receiving one of the following documents: a transcript, a degree/diploma, or an official letter from your university are all acceptable.

 

If you want to immigrate to Canada and become a permanent resident, you can apply for the Canadian Experience Class or the Provincial Nominee Program. For the first program, you must meet the following requirements:

  1. Comply with your employer's linguistic standards.
  2. Prior to application, you must have at least one year of relevant job experience in Canada within the last three years.
  3. This job experience must be achieved while on a work authorization temporary residence status.

 

The second program which is called the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is a government-run program that selects candidates from around the province.

This program is designed for employees who:  have the talents, education, and job experience to benefit the economy of a given province or territory, and desire to become permanent residents of Canada in that province.

 

To apply for this program, you must, first of all, identify where you want to live in Canada and then apply for a nomination in that province or territory. They'll consider your application based on two factors: their immigration demands and whether or not you really want to stay in the country.

After a province or territory has nominated you, you must apply for permanent residency with us (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada). Your application will be evaluated in accordance with Canadian immigration legislation.

 

Tuition fees for international students in Kwantlen Polytechnic University

For tuition and compulsory student fees, Kwantlen Polytechnic University uses a per-credit system. International students pay roughly $730 per credit as of December 2021, with the exception of English as a Second Language programs; which cost $405.36 per credit for overseas students.

 

Fees for the Kwantlen Student Association are as follows:

  • Operating fund: $3.32 per credit plus a fixed fee of $9.92 (up to $53.06 every semester) and aroung $6 and $7 per credit
  • KSA Extended Health Plan $87.55 (per year)
  • Dental Plan: $113.30 (per year)
  • a Multi-Pass and a U-Pass around $54 (per month)
  • Coverage under a Temporary Medical Insurance Plan: $201.30 (per semester)

Most international students spend between $6,500 and $11,000 every semester in tuition and compulsory student fees. You should also include the prices of other fees, textbooks, and course supplies in your budget. In general, multiplying the per-credit rate by the number of credits will give you an estimate of how much you'll spend in tuition and fees for a course or program.

In addition, all international students will be obliged to pay an International Tuition Deposit for registration. You will be eligible to register for classes each term only when your deposit has been received, and you have a balance of at least $2,200 on your account. This is not a supplementary fee; $2,200 will be added to your account's balance, lowering your overall fees for the term.
