Lakes and springs, forests, and grasslands make the environment healthy and offer lots of outdoor opportunities.
Mountain View School Division was founded in 1957. Today it consists of sixteen schools that are located in the communities of Dauphin, Grandview, Gilbert Plains, Ethelbert, Roblin, Winnipegosis, and Ochre River. Six of these schools accept international students from all over the world. The closest international airport is in Winnipeg. Mountain View School Division staff meet students at the airport and transfer them safely to their new homestay families in Manitoba.

A student-centered approach to education is seen in every MVSD program, whether it is a short informative stay or a long-term Diploma Program. Teachers at Mountain View schools know how to help students reach their full potential. Tailor-made courses and attention to the unique and individual needs of every person make the study process smooth and effective.
Academic courses are enriched with important cultural skills and extracurricular activities. Dynamic learning environment motivates students to discover more about the world around us, value nature, linguistic and cultural diversity. Schools of the Division offer various English Language Programs, that correspond to different levels of command of English. Well-designed courses together with a friendly and responsive class atmosphere aid students` fluency.
The Program for International Students in the Mountain View Division was established in 2008. Since then, every year approximately 80 international students get their education in one of six secondary schools. International students are accepted for Grades 5-12. The languages of the study are English and French. French Immersion Program is available. Other special programs include Advanced Placement, Vocational Programming, Sports and Fine Arts. The duration of the programs offered varies from one semester to a full year. The entrance dates are in September and February.
Mountain View School Division educators believe students` experience in Canada is extremely important. That`s why the International Student Program includes at least one special extracurricular activity per month. Canoeing, ice-fishing, hiking, horseback riding, and skiing are just a few out of many offered during previous years. It is worth mentioning, that students do not have to pay the extra money, as these activities are already included in the Tuition Fee. Also, there are many student clubs and volunteer groups that students are encouraged to join.
Special attention at the Mountain View schools is paid to modern and innovative methods of teaching. All classrooms are well-equipped and computerized. Based on the local statistics, a large number of students in the District are making more academic progress than their peers at other schools of the province.
Mountain School Division offers a well-designed homestay program. The work is organized by two homestay managers, who interview and select families, match students to the host families based on common interests and values. These managers keep contact and monitor student`s comfort during the program. Homestay includes a comfortable and private bedroom, internet access, and three meals a day. Most importantly, living in a real Canadian family helps newcomers to adapt faster and gives them lots of social and cultural benefits. The Homestay Monthly Fee is 700 CAD.
The Full-year Tuition Fee is 12,000 CAD, the Application Fee is 200 CAD. The Health Insurance Fee is 600 CAD for a ten-month program or 300 CAD for a five-month program.
