Queen's University is widely regarded in Canada for its student life, which includes the biggest number of societies per student comparing with any Canadian university. The university is also popular for the foreign exchange program with over 220 partners. Queen's University is in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, about midway between Montreal and Toronto, two of the country's most populous cities. Kingston is located on Lake Ontario's shoreline, between the St. Lawrence River's and Thousand Islands' entrances, as well as the Rideau Canal. Kingston is situated in the east of Ontario, near the confluence of Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River, about 200 kilometres from Ottawa, Canada's capital, 250 kilometres from the heart of the provincial capital, Toronto, and 300 kilometres from Montréal, Québec.

 

The City of Kingston serves as a home away from homeland for more than 30,000 students from Queen's University, the Royal Military College, and St. Lawrence College. Students and recent graduates from all majors and specialties are welcome to attend the Queen's University annual Career Fair in search of apprenticeships, new graduate positions, further education opportunities, and more. Students will meet with recruiters from a wide range of industries and regions, as well as professors from various post-graduate schools.

Tuition fee for international students in Queen’s university

The cost of tuition varies depending on which courses you choose at the university. Fall tuition for Engineering Faculty is $27,495.81, for Arts and Science Faculty is $25,512.80, for Commerce Faculty 26,973.93, for Law Faculty $33,898.68, for Medicine Faculty $44,202.39. Tuition is calculated per unit for all programs (excluding Law and Medicine). Your tuition will be changed if you enrol in more or less units than the typical load. Moreover, additional costs apply to students enrolled in the following programs:  

  • Concurrent Education Students, who are not in their final year, pay the SAF for their core program. Fee for the Concurrent Education Society ($25.00 will be added to their account.)
  • The Engineering & Applied Science Extended (900 section) program has a $539.63 per course registration cost.
  • A cost of $300.00 per rewrite is charged for registration in the Engineering & Applied Science Extended (900 section) program rewrites (Summer Term 2021). 
  • The cost of an additional examination is $300.00 per exam. 
  • Physical and Health Education and Kinesiology: Faculty Society Fee is $27.00

All Foreign Students pay fee for the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP).

 

Ancillary fees in Queen’s University

 

Ancillary fees fund the university's and student administrations' operations and events, as well as their faculty/school organizations and clubs.

 

There are 4 types of auxiliary fees for both undergraduate and graduate/professional students:

Auxiliary mandatory fees include such services as:

  • Academic Grievance Center.

Academic complaints, rules, and disciplinary matters are handled by the Academic Grievance Centre.

The AMS committee Queen's (AQ) is in charge of allocating funds raised from the student fee to programmes and projects that will improve student accessibility on campus.

  • The AMS Food Bank.

The AMS Food Bank is a non-profit organisation that provides daily food assistance to members of the Queen's community in a secure and non-judgmental manner. 

  • The AMS Membership.

Fee entitles students to: apply for more than 700 jobs in the AMS and its services; participate in over 250 student-run groups, including conferences, community service organizations, and other events; and apply for more than 700 posts in the AMS and its services.

Gyms, squash courts, fitness centres, cardio zone, women's only gym, and aquatic pool are all available on campus.
