School Division (RETSD) is a caring and innovative school division located in quiet and secure neighborhoods of northeast Winnipeg. It is the second-largest division of Manitoba that serves communities of East and North Kildonan and Transcona, East St. Paul, and St. Clements. The Schools of the Division are known in Manitoba as educational leaders. The number of students enrolled in River East Transcona Schools exceeds 16,000, 150 of them are international. ​A small amount of international students aids their integration and interaction with Canadian students. Six senior and eleven junior high schools accept international students and offer a wide range of services to satisfy their academic needs and interests. The innovative and service-oriented River East Transcona School Division exists to educate students and nurture inspired, skilled and responsible citizens. All the staff of the RETSD shares common values based on respect, dignity, understanding, collaboration, and teamwork. River East Transcona School Division offers unique courses and program study opportunities that include International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement, Dramatic Arts and Music Programs, Visual Communications, Website Design and Animation, Multi-Media Production, Photography, Fashion Technology, Metals Fabrication. The RETSD Music Production Technology Program is known all over the world. Within this program, students have an opportunity to work in a real and ultra-modern music recording studio situated in the city of Winnipeg. Special attention at the RETSD schools is paid to Computer Sciences.

All classrooms are well equipped and computer technologies are incorporated into all aspects of learning. This approach helps to prepare students better for the needs of the modern world and its challenges. All international students are guaranteed high-quality internet access. Students can choose long-term and short-term programs (three or four months). Studies can begin in September or February. The division offers a wide range of English as Second Language Programs. They are designed to correspond to the needs of students with different levels of English knowledge. It is worth mentioning, that River East Transcona Schools do not have any English level requirements for the participants of the International Education Program. Intensive ESL programs are included in the curriculum of studies at no extra fee and TOEFL preparation is available. One of the educational priorities of the RETSD is the preparation of students for their future university studies worldwide. Many of the River East Transcona School Division students win numerous national and international competitions in physics and mathematics. The Division also boasts close links to Canadian and foreign universities that recognize high standards of the RETSD. Fully-equipped premises of the River East Transcona Schools provide students with excellent academic and physical fitness facilities. A wide range of extracurricular activities offered at Schools includes Music, Theatre and Drama, Soccer, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Track and Field and Hockey. Lots of the RETSD students are champions of various Winnipeg and provincial sports competitions. River East Transcona School Division provides placement in secure and caring Canadian homes. Homestay coordinators keep close contact with students and are available even after school hours by phone. Homestay Program gives students a unique chance to learn more about Canadian culture while being surrounded by love and care of a host family. The Tuition Fee is 11,750 CAD for 10 months or 5,875 CAD for 5 months, the Application Fee is 250 CAD. The Medical Insurance Fee is 500 CAD per 10 months.
