On January 1, 1998, Niagara Catholic District School Board was established in Ontario, Canada through the amalgamation of the Lincoln County Roman Catholic Separate School Board and the Welland County Roman Catholic Separate School Board. Covering an extensive geographic area of 1,868 square kilometres, Niagara Catholic District School Board serves more than 90,000 Catholic ratepayers and has over 21,000 students enrolled in their Catholic elementary, secondary, and alternative learning schools. These students originate from 112 different countries and speak 58 different languages, all taught from a Catholic perspective.

As part of their education, students in Grades 9 and 12 participate in retreats, as well as an annual pilgrimage in October. The French Immersion Program at Niagara Catholic provides students with a positive and lifelong learning experience.
