Canadian Rockies Public Schools is thrilled to introduce approved Distance Education courses, offering a distinct approach to learning compared to traditional classroom-based education. The Centre at CRPS provides two types of programs tailored to students' needs. Credit courses are available for students in Grades 10-12 and those transitioning from Grade 9 to Grade 10. Acknowledging the significance of collaboration and partnership, CRPS and Olds College work together to develop high school upgrading and dual credit opportunities for Bow Valley students. The program expanded its offerings to include areas like Tourism, Business, Agriculture, Animal Health, and Sports Management.
Flexible Learning upgrading courses enable Grade 12 students to participate in the Dual Credit Program, fostering increased participation in post-secondary programs among young adults. Through the Dual Credit Program, students can enroll in college courses during Grades 10, 11, and 12, earning both high school and college credits per course. These courses, taught by college instructors, are offered online at no cost to students. By forming partnerships with local businesses, CRPS aims to create meaningful connections to current and emerging labor markets in the Bow Valley. The Dual Credit Program aims to facilitate a seamless transition from high school to post-secondary education or the workforce, achieving the goal of inspiring engaged and entrepreneurial students. Canadian Rockies Public Schools proudly initiated the Performance School program in September 2014, nurturing excellence in both performance and academics for high-achieving students in Grades 10-11. The program, operating within CCHS, aligns with the Whole Child emphasis of their Inspiring Hearts and Minds initiative, leveraging the expertise of CCHS staff. The program's mission is to foster supportive partnerships between students, teachers, parents, and the performance community, addressing the unique needs of students involved in particular aspects of performance that may lead to extended school absences. With flexible learning, scheduling, and connections to the performance and community, the Performance School program endeavors to provide a well-rounded educational experience for its talented participants.
