The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) was founded in 1953 in Metro Toronto. In 1998 the TDSB was reorganized and today it is the largest school board in Canada and the fourth-largest in North America.

The Toronto District School Board unites 582 schools with the number of students reaching 250,000. Over 200 nationalities and 75 different languages are represented in the TDSB schools. The staff of the Board, teachers, and counselors are well-trained and experienced, they speak many languages and know how to support and adapt students from different countries to life and studies in Canada. Academic courses and extracurricular activities are designed to correspond to the needs and interests of students from diverse backgrounds.

The Toronto District School Board is proud of the academic excellence of its students. Over 80 percent of graduates continue their education in colleges and universities and 40 percent of them are ranked as Ontario Scholars. The Board has a well-developed network of partnerships with the best universities in Canada and North America. Many of them offer additional entrance benefits to the students of the TDSB. 

The Toronto District School Board, as one of the most diverse and multicultural school boards in the world, offers a wide range of long-term and short-term international programs to students. They include Full-year and Semester Programs, Short Term Cultural Immersion Programs, Integrated Orientation and Summer Camps.  28 high schools of the Board work with more than 2000 international students. They are accepted for grades starting from Kindergarten to Grade 12.

The TDSB Cultural Immersion Program lasts one to two months. It offers visiting students an individual program, authentic immersion experience in TDSB schools, and learning with Canadian students. It is worth mentioning, that newcomers will study according to the same curriculum as local students. The program gives a unique opportunity to feel real Canadian life and education, stay in a Canadian family, and build a lifelong friendship with people from all corners of the world.

International students, who apply to the Toronto District School Board secondary schools are only eligible for regular-track programs. The Admission requirements include an average of C+ (65%) or higher in the past two years of school, Intermediate or higher level of English Language Proficiency, and a letter of recommendation from a teacher or a principal.

Specialized programs offered at the TDSB include International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement, Arts Focus, CyberArts, Robotics, and Elite Athletes.

Secondary School students can live with parents, relatives, or custodians.All students are guaranteed a safe and comfortable living environment. 

The Toronto District School Board entrance dates are in September and February. The Full-year Tuition Fee for secondary school students is 14,000 CAD. The Application Fee is 200 CAD and the Annual Health Insurance Fee is included in the tuition fee.
